Question:
Can using a flat iron damage my hair?
Answer:
I hate to say it, but flat ironing hurts and damages our hair, and so does combing or brushing it when it's dry or drying. No matter what a product says (including flat irons), legally, they don't have to tell you the truth. They can exaggerate their claims, as well as implying that they are not harming your hair, or even that they are helping or "healing" the hair. This is false. Anything that involves heat high enough to burn your skin burns your hair.

My suggestion would be to totally stop flat ironing your pretty curls if you ever want to grow out your hair and have it damage free. Eliminating all forms of damage is the only thing I've found to get hair as fragile as ours to grow long.
