Question:
Do you remember what length your curls were when they finally began weighing themselves down (growing downward instead of outward)?
Answer:
For me, it was more what I started doing that made my curls grow down instead of outward. Really, our curls can grow outward forever. Or they can hang pretty quickly. What I found that made the big difference was combing in and leaving in lots of a good conditioner, and defining my curls so that they were separate instead of acting all as one unit. This way each curl can hang down how it wants.
Oh, but the length I was at when I realized this was when my hair was down to my shoulder blades and still growing out instead of down. That was when I discovered leaving in conditioner, and defining every curl. And just like that, my hair was hanging down, overnight, and I could wear a long low ponytail.
