Here are some of the questions I get asked the most, and what my answers have been. This way you can get your answers immediately, without having to wait on me. And you never know, you might find answers to a few questions you didn't even know you had yet.

*This is still a work in progress. I'm continuing to add many more questions, and we are still ironing out a few quirks. But we wanted to make this available as soon as possible.

There are several ways to choose the question(s) you'd like answered:

Question:
Do you use gel, hair dressing, or lotions in your hair?
Answer:
I only use the conditioner in my hair-- no other products. It does everything I need without stickiness, crunchiness or greasiness. It helps moisturize my hair, define all my curls, weather-proofs them and sets them.

I've found other products to be either crunchy, drying, greasy, sticky, or made my hair feel like straw. I think gels can actually damage your hair because of their stiffness, and I never found hairdressings to work (and if you put them on your scalp, they could clog your pores).

Plus, just using conditioner as my leave-in simplifies my life, and saves me tons of money. Often, products marketed as leave in are just more expensively packaged conditioners anyway. Either that or they are really watery, so they don't do anything useful.

Occasionally I will put a little olive oil or coconut oil on my ends at night before putting my hair up in a braid. I do this mostly in the winter when the air is really dry. However, I've gone many years without using anything other than conditioner, and my hair was fine then, too.
