Question:
How can I protect my hair for swimming, but without silicones?
Answer:
Always put your hair up in a couple buns or braids before swimming. If possible, swimming in fresh water is best. If you swim in chlorine or salt, give your hair a coating of oil and then braid up your hair before going in, since oil repels water. So putting in oil should keep some of the chlorine or salt out of your hair. Afterward, give it a very gentle shampooing, followed by a few through no-poo washes with a light conditioner, making sure to smooth it into all your hair, and to rinse it out thoroughly. Do this at least twice, I'd say. Then < href="/CurlyPrimer.aspx">condition, comb, define, and dry your hair as usual.
