Here are some of the questions I get asked the most, and what my answers have been. This way you can get your answers immediately, without having to wait on me. And you never know, you might find answers to a few questions you didn't even know you had yet.

Question:
I don't really relax my hair/ my child's hair, I just use a texturizer/ kiddie perm. This isn't the same thing as a relaxer, is it?
Answer:
Anything that permanently alters your hair texture damages it without question. Many perms say misleading things on their boxes about how they condition hair, and how they are gentle. Nothing could be further from the truth. These use highly alkaline chemicals that change the molecular structure of your hair. The pH used to do the job is similar to the pH used in drain clog removers and oven cleaners. Just because it may say "No Lye" doesn't mean they aren't still using chemicals as strong as lye. This goes for texturizers, "naturelaxers" and "kiddie" perms, too.
