Question:
I want to try your methods, but I don't want to use products with silicones in them
Answer:
You totally don't have to use products with silicones in them to do these techniques. I've been looking around for good combing conditioners that work just fine without silicones. However, you'd be surprised at how many conditioners have a bit of silicone in them. Most of the shampoos I recommend don't really have silicones in them, so I'll recommend good combing conditioners without silicones (since having a good conditioner is very important to this method).
The conditioners I've found that work in our hair without silicones (as of this writing) are:
Alaffia Coconut & Shea Daily Hydrating Conditioner (For All Hair Types). This one also works well as a rinsing conditioner.
Giovanni 50:50 Balanced Hydrating-Calming Condtioner
Blended Beauty Curl Styling Butter.
I'm constantly searching for more conditioners without silicones (for those of you who don't want to use them), as well as more organic products.
