*This is still a work in progress. I'm continuing to add many more questions, and we are still ironing out a few quirks. But we wanted to make this available as soon as possible.

Question:
What are doodles?
Answer:
A wonderful thing to do with short hair is what my mom calls "Doodles". This is what my mom did with her hair when it was all cut off, and her hair was stunning. Doodles basically are lots of adorable, tiny spirals in your hair that looks sort of like a straw set (setting curls on straws to make lots of tiny spirals). The great thing is that your hair will do this on it's own, without you having to set it in tiny rollers or straws.

To create your doodles, first gently shampoo your scalp and rinse well, and put a good conditioner in it. Leave the conditioner in, and while your hair is still very wet, comb it, and take each curl, or several natural curls you see wanting to form, and twist it around your fingers. BeforeYou can check out how Aja is doing this to her hair, and how stunning her curls are afterward. This will give you lots and lots of cute, tiny Shirley Temple curls. You can also look at Chi's, Mya's and Frances' doodles as well.

After you finish twirling all your adorable curls, leave the conditioner in, and let them dry. They should last about a week if you don't brush or comb them. My mom got lots of compliments when she did her hair like that (until it reached her shoulders, then her hair was long enough to just smooth each curl). Aja said she also gets lots of complements on her lovely curls.

In the morning, your hair may look fuzzy and all your curls smashed, but they are easy to refresh. Simply wet your hands, rub a bit more of the same conditioner you used to comb on them too, and smooth your hands over your hair. Then wet and condition your hands again, and re-twirl around your fingers any fuzzy curls. This will make your curls spring back to life.
