Question:
What should I do with the ends of my twists at night?
Answer:
The ends of our twists can be a challenge to deal with. I usually leave twists in for a week or two, and I always braid them up at night. I treat them sort of like I do with my curls, and pull them back in one or two low braids. I braid to about one inch from the ends, then I turn the braid into a twist, and twist to the tips. Then I tuck the tip back into the braid, so none of my ends are exposed.
In the morning I unbraid my hair, and take a bit of a combing conditioner and smooth it over my ends with a tiny bit of water. This keeps my ends curled, and helps them regain their shape after being in a braid all night. It also helps me keep an eye on them to make sure they aren't matting.
Or you could put your twists into a low bun or two at night. Then when you undo them in the morning, smooth conditioner and water over the ends to refresh them, just like with the braid.
