Here are some of the questions I get asked the most, and what my answers have been. This way you can get your answers immediately, without having to wait on me. And you never know, you might find answers to a few questions you didn't even know you had yet.

*This is still a work in progress. I'm continuing to add many more questions, and we are still ironing out a few quirks. But we wanted to make this available as soon as possible.

Question:
Why are there similarities between the site and the book?
Answer:
Basically, the site is the short version and Curly Like Me is the long version. I put everything I know in the book. The site I give an overview. You see, when I figured out my hair, I wanted to do what I could to see that no one else would go through what I did with their hair, especially when it was so much easier than I had thought all those years. That was my goal. So I put up the site and put lots of information in there so a person struggling could look through it and walk away knowing what to do.

For the book, I put the "whys" behind why I did what I did, gave technical information so a person would make the right decisions for their hair, and went into all the details of my techniques. But honestly, my techniques are the same whether they are online or in print. Those are the ones I've learned. I want to keep it simple.

Now, I could have, as some have suggested I do, only put part of my techniques online. Just give some info and say they need to check out the book to know how to do all my technique. But that was not my goal. My goal is to help people with their hair. So I put the whole technique online to do just that, knowing that there would be a few people who might think I shouldn't have put so much information online for everyone, and should have instead saved most of my techniques for the book. But again, I wanted my fellow curlies to have access to this information (at least the basics), knowing that not everyone may be able to buy the book.
