Question:
Are bar soaps better for my hair?
Answer:
Bar soaps have ingredients in them that hold the bar together, and this may build up in your hair (bar soaps aren't good for your skin, either). I don't think bars are any more gentle than shampoos, despite their marketing. It all comes down to what is actually in the bar. And soaps are often made from a reaction of a highly alkaline substance (like lye) and a fat, so I would be very wary of using one.
